Position Summary: Employee supports the overall guest experience by participating in and completing Lodge care, including room turns and upkeep.
Education and Training Required: High School Diploma or equivalent, with 1-2 yrs housekeeping or related experience, and 1 yr in supervisory role (or related).
Position Qualifications: (Requirements are representative of minimum levels of knowledge, skills and/or abilities.)
- Posses organizational skills in both task and time management.
- Detail oriented
- Ability to clearly communicate (verbal and written) in English with guests, co‑workers, and management.
- Ability to take ownership of work and assigned responsibilities/facilities. Self-motivated/directed.
Physical Requirements:
This position is physically demanding (e.g. bending, lifting (up to 50 lbs.), kneeling, carrying, pushing laundry carts, etc.).
Essential Job Functions/Duties:
- Uphold the standards and policies of the Florida Conference of SDA’s and Camp Kulaqua.
- Perform all work tasks/duties according to Adventist Risk Management and Camp Kulaqua safety standards.
- Be willing to work in other Departments as needed, with supervisor’s approval.
- Present a neat, clean and professional personal appearance.
- Wear/maintain/clean personal work uniforms.
- Perform daily upkeep of the Lodge Facilities (e.g. turn rooms, clean lobby, provide a tidy and clean environment for guests, etc.)
Mental/Emotional Requirements: Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment; to perform duties under pressure and meet deadlines in a timely manner; to work as part of a team as well as to complete assignments independently; to take instructions from supervisors; to exercise problem-solving skills; and to interact with co-workers, supervisors, guests and the public in a professional and pleasant manner.
Must be able to deal tactfully and effectively with Kulaqua staff and guests on a daily basis. Must remain calm under pressure and exhibit courtesy, diplomacy and kindness, both in person and through other communication avenues.
Additional Requirements: Employees must fulfill the performance standards of this position and comply with the policies, rules, codes and procedures of the Florida Conference including those set out in the Conference Working Policies, the North American Division Working Policies, or otherwise communicated (verbally or in writing) to employees.
